Georgia Aquarium
Located in the heart of downtown the Georgia Aquarium is packed full of marine life just waiting to be explored and discovered. With over 10 million gallons of water, it’s home to thousands upon thousands of water animals including beluga whales, whale sharks, manta rays, and bottlenose dolphins.
The viewing area in the Aquarium is like nothing you’ve ever experienced. Why? Because the viewing windows are some of the biggest in the world. Even more impressive? The Georgia Aquarium is the largest aquarium in the United States!
Just when you think it couldn’t get any better… the aquarium is scheduled to open a section dedicated to sharks in 2020!
Keep in mind that the Georgia Aquarium is really, really popular so it’s always a good idea to book and buy your tickets online and ahead of time. Give yourself a couple of hours to get through everything that there is to see and explore!
Zoo Atlanta
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Those are just a few of the animals that you’ll get to see at Zoo Atlanta. While there you will be able to spend several hours exploring all the different areas and animal exhibits. I honestly could have all spent all day there, there really is that much to see!
The Zoo is beautiful and they have done an amazing job of offering up a wide variety of animal species to be able to view and learn about. If you’re a Panda lover, you definitely have to check out the Panda Cam! You can take a peek at what the pandas are doing at any point in time during the day! Seriously, how fun is that?
Don’t forget to grab a map to make certain that you and your group can see all the animals that you want! Planning ahead and talking about all the different sites is something that the entire family can get excited about.
Big Ketch
Treat your taste buds to some delicious food and tunes at Big Ketch. Technically it’s a restaurant, but it’s seriously so much more than that. They consider themselves to be a destination. We couldn’t agree more. From the moment that we arrived, the delicious food scents had our mouths watering and our toes were tapping to the beat.
Every single person there was excited to be there and we found ourselves swept up in the excitement as well. From seafood to tacos, there is literally something there for everyone to enjoy!
Chido and Padres
If you love authentic Mexican food and flavors, Chido and Padres is where you need to eat. Serving up delicious lunch and dinner options, there’s no way that you or anyone will leave hungry.
Ask the waiter what they suggest from the menu and take a cue from the locals. This is one fun fiesta that you’ll never, ever forget.

It makes sense that the aquarium would be so popular and busy because it’s the biggest in the world. We have a large family reunion around Atlanta in a few months and we are trying to find the best things to do that everyone will enjoy. I think it’s smart to charter a bus so that we can transport everyone around the city together.
