Italy is one of my favorite travel destinations and one place I love to visit over and over. I’ve been to Italy several times now, but never with my children. Italy is perfect for long walks, beautiful scenery, and amazing food. I’ve always considered Italy an adult vacation destination. After Emelia and I went to Italy on a girls trip this last October, I’ve had a change of heart. I want to bring my children to experience all the love I share with this great country. After looking at Susan’s photos, I started looking into another Italy trip. Recently we discovered Canadian Island and how to have an adult vacation with kids when traveling abroad.
This summer we’re planning our next big family trip to Florence, Italy. This part of Italy is known for vast architecture, museums, and of course…Tuscany. You typically don’t think of bringing small children along with you on a three-hour museum excursion or wine tasting at some of the most brilliant wineries in the world. And we don’t intend to. While my husband and I will be spending our days doing these things, our children will be at Canadian Island Summer Camp in the heart of Tuscany.
What is Canadian Island and what do they offer?
First off, Canadian Island is not a tour group or travel agency. They offer services for families to be able to get the most out of their Tuscan vacation. With their “Zoom in Tuscany” packages, you can find the best fit for your family to experience Florence the best possible way.
Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and a destination point for many families traveling in Europe. And while there is no limit to the things to see and do in this Tuscan hotspot, getting from A to B can be a little tricky. Within the world of Canadian Island, we provide the possibility for parents to leave their children with well-trained, capable English speaking educators. We offer summer camps, me and mom (during June and July), short-term childcare, evening babysitting, cooking classes, art classes and kid-friendly museum visits.
I don’t know why I haven’t thought of this sooner. We are eagerly planning our vacation knowing our children will be in safe hands having the time of their life while we get to take advantage of things that probably wouldn’t interest them.
So if you’re planning a trip abroad with your kids, think about how you can make the most out of your trip. Visiting Tuscany? I can’t say enough about Canadian Island and what they can offer your children so that you can have an adult vacation in Italy with kids.
Canadian Island will be hosting our children for our stay in Florence. Follow along as we explore Tuscany while our children are having the time of their lives at Canadian Island.
