If you’re looking for a family getaway that’s similar to Disney but at a fraction of the cost, you might want to plan a trip to Hershey, PA. As home to many attractions including, most famously, Hersheypark, there are so many things to do as a family. And to make the most of your time there, we recommend staying at one of the Hershey owned properties: Hotel Hershey, Hershey Lodge, or the Hersheypark Camping Resort.
If you’re looking for family-friendly accommodations, we love Hershey Lodge with its new Hershey’s Water Works and a wide variety of outstanding restaurants. But we’re even more pleased to see that the breakfast-only Lebbie Lebkicher’s is now ready for a change.
Fun fact: Lebbie Lebkicher was a close associate and father figure to Milton S. Hershey.
Hershey Lodge to Add to Its Culinary Portfolio with New Restaurant Fire & Grain Anticipated to Open Mid-May 2017
Hershey Lodge is excited to announce Fire & Grain contemporary American restaurant, anticipated to open mid-May 2017. Fire & Grain will replace Lebbie Lebkicher’s restaurant, which closed on January 30 for renovations. Located in the main lobby of Hershey Lodge, the restaurant will bring exciting energy to the space and offer complimentary valet parking for guests.
Serving breakfast, dinner and drinks, Fire & Grain will focus on engaging service and innovative comfort food with an open kitchen concept. Various dining areas will include modern bar seating, classic tables and cozy booths, and gathering tables.
“We are thrilled to announce our newest restaurant, Fire & Grain,” said Jason Heath, general manager at Hershey Lodge. “As we celebrate the Lodge’s 50th year, we are proud to continue making additions and improvements to our property and look forward to bringing new energy to the lobby area.”
The contemporary American cuisine at Fire & Grain will be inspired by the open kitchen, which will be used to prepare innovative, re-mastered and familiar comfort foods. The menu will feature signature breakfast favorites, baked pastas, local meat and cheese, flatbreads and more. Small plates and appetizers will promote sharing among groups of guests. The bar will serve an assortment of craft beers and wine, and cocktails will be made with authentic ingredients.
“Our team is eager to open Fire & Grain,” said Kevin O’Brien, food & beverage director at Hershey Lodge. “This new concept gives our culinary experts the opportunity to create a distinctive dining experience. Combined with the imagination of our beverage team, Fire & Grain will be a unique restaurant offering for the Hershey community.”
Additional dining options at Hershey Lodge include Hershey Grill Kitchen + Bar, and The Bears’ Den and The Forebay restaurants. Cocoa Cabana snack bar (located at Hershey’s Water Works at Hershey Lodge indoor pool complex), Cocoa Beanery café and room service are also available.
The square footage of Fire & Grain will be 2,800 square feet, and the restaurant’s capacity will be 272 diners. Hershey Lodge is partnering with Shea Design (Minneapolis), Pyramid Construction Services (Lemoyne, Pa.), HB McClure Company (Harrisburg, Pa.), Edwin L. Heim Company (Harrisburg, Pa.) and Singer Equipment Company (Elverson, Pa.) on this project. The estimated cost for the project is $1.7 million.
